VALĒRE is the result of three professionals combining their skills, knowledge and passion to create a strength training app specifically for endurance athletes.
Dr Kate Baldwin (PhD) has over a decade of experience in the field of physiotherapy and exercise science and her dissertation “The influence of concurrent strength and endurance training on cycling and running economy in long-distance triathletes” is the foundation of VALĒRE. As a runner and long distance open water swimmer, Kate also has the practical training and racing experience to apply her knowledge. Together with husband Nick Baldwin, a triathlon coach, ex-professional triathlete and Ironman winner, they both work closely with athletes on a daily basis.
The team is completed by Joe Skipper, who has established himself as one of the world’s best long-distance triathletes. Joe is the British iron distance record holder, with multiple Ironman wins and a top-5 at the Ironman World Championships. Kate has worked with Joe for a number of years, programming his strength training through the most successful stage of his career. Following the success of implementing a remote strength training program for Joe, the vision was born: to provide athletes around the world access to comprehensive, evidence based strength training programs specifically for improved endurance performance and injury resilience.
